Online Boutiques = Serious Designer Discounts!

designer discount boutique

Hi Ladies!

It's been quite a while since I last posted, but a new trend recently caught my eye and I'd really like to share it with you all. Online boutiques offering temporary private super-sales have been springing up like wildfire! It's no surprise they are so popular because the discounts are often 50-70% off great designers like 7 for all mankind, Juicy, Free People, Rock and Revolution, and even brands for your man. Here's how it works: An invitation only online boutiique will partner with a designer to offer a limited amount of peices at a discount. The sale usually lasts about 12-24 hours or until all peices are sold out (which often happens quickly!).

Online Designer Boutiques are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to ways a bargain finder can beenfit from a slumping economy. Always keep your eye on other discount designer outlets like Marshalls and TJ Maxx - they are carrying more designer surplus than ever before.

For a fantastic online boutique experience, email me requesting an invitation to join Rue La La at mediamakeup@rocketmail.com. It's free and you will get an e-mail every day showing you what designers are currently on sale. Happy saleing!

Paris Hilton Leopard One-Peice Monokini from McCain Attack Video!

Paris Hilton Leopard Monokini
Being a dedicated bargain finder, I find great fashion inspiration on all walks of the web - even political campaign attack video responses. In case you are unaware of the happenings over the last few days, McCain seriously ticked off the Hilton family by releasing an television advertisement attacking Obama - degrading him to the label of "celebrity" - while showing images of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. The Hilton family had good reason to be pissed off since the family has donated close to $60,000 to McCain and a Republican party senate fund over the past few years, according to Gawker.

A cheesy video response from Paris Hilton was later released on Funny or Die. Despite the somewhat-funny script that Paris was reading from, I was mostly just focused on her gorgeous leopard "monokini", or one-piece bathing suit. I don't know how much she bought hers for, but I found some Paris Hilton Response Video-inspired leopard one-pieces online. Now THATS HOT!

Cheap MAC: Mini pigment eyeshadow jars under $5

Being a MAC fan can be expensive, but when you want that high color payoff and blendable pigment, cheaper alternatives simply don't cut it. Luckily, there is a place on the net where you can buy cheap MAC pigment eyeshadows that us makeup junkies just can't get enough of. Girl Meets Makeup sells MAC pigment samples (1/4 teaspoon) for only $2.90 each. Before you start thinking of 1/4 teaspoon as a small amount, try to remember the last time you bought a pigment and how long it lasted. I bet you still have pigments from years back. They practically last forever. When you buy samples, you can get a wide variety of colors that you may not use all the time, but are great for nights out, special occasions, or to just switch up your look.

I suggest getting the Lot of 20 pigments (you choose all the colors and it comes with a Pro Mixing Medium!) for $50, or if you don't want to go all out, get the lot of 10 for $26. You can always buy them individually, but getting a Lot of pigments is better if you want to save even more money! If you're a fan of Mac Pro products, there are plenty of pro pigments to choose from on the site. Happy shopping!

Bargain Find of the Day: Kensie Dress with Jeweled Neck $29.99

Cheap sundress discount kensieI bought this exact same Kensie dress at Macy's yesterday for $64, only to find out today that it is listed on Amazon.com for $29.99! Maybe I should take my own advice and find a bargain before I splurge!

On a more positive note, the dress is so comfy. It feels like a nightgown, but looks great. I'm wearing it today and have gotten quite a few compliments on. You can pair it with some cute gladiator sandals or casual heels for a sophisticated by laid-back summer look.

Kensie Girl Jeweled-Neck Jersey Dress $29.99

I've added a few more laid-back summer dresses and shoes by Kensie on sale for up to 50% off. Enjoy.

Kenzie Women's Elect $29.99

Kensie Tank-Dress with Tie-Pockets $24.33

Kensie Vibrant Floral Silk Top $33.60

MAC Junkies on a Budget: Cheap MAC Makeup Alternatives

Cheap MAC eyeshadow
I have been desperately trying to find some cosmetic brands that have funky highly pigmented eyeshadow shades similar to MAC or NARS. After reading on a few forums that NYX is a cheap alternative, I hit the drug stores to check it out. Although I didn't find any NYX eyeshadows, I found something just as good if not better. It's called Jesse's Girl Eye Dust (available at Rite Aid Drug Stores or jessesgirlcosmetics. Their pigments are generally pastel colors and they aren't just pretty in the bottle, they come out gorgeous on your skin too. It really is high-intensity color. At only $3.99 a pop, I bought 6 of them and layered and blended to create a mermaid-like look just for fun. It came out looking great. I will definitely go back and buy some more!
